Even outside the Zillertal, there is much to discover
Most of the time, the sun shines in the Zillertal, but every so often, the sky darkens and the rain moves in. Therefore, it's good that there is much to discover aside from hiking, biking, or running. Children can look forward to a sightseeing ride on the Zillertalbahn Railway. It huffs and puffs through the countryside as steam arises from the locomotive. Riding the nostalgic steam train through the Zillertal is an exciting experience for the whole family.
A ride on the Zillertaler Höhenstraße will take you up to new heights. Via hairpin bends, you will reach an elevation of over 2,000 m. The Durlaßboden reservoir in Gerlos is a great excursion for the entire family, but the best time to visit here is with good weather. Sailing, surfing, or pedal boats are also on the program.
If you would like to swim even if it's raining or if you would like to enjoy the pleasant warmth of the sauna or steam bath, you can visit the Erlebnistherme in Fügen. Indoor and outdoor pools, slides, and a large wellness area will help you pass the time on a rainy day.
